As we worship together "from house to house," we are grateful for the many people who have helped make our online and Parking Lot Service possible. Our commitment to serving one another stands as a cornerstone to our ability to continue with effective ministry. Whether you are helping park cars, proofing worship lyrics, or helping keep people safe by cleaning our bathrooms, your service is making an eternal difference.
If you cannot join us this Sunday, we invite you to sing along with the worship videos. We encourage you to take the Lord’s Supper. In this way, we can take communion together even though we are apart. Pray for one another. Watch my message WE ARE THE CHURCH: Where Service is Imperative. Respond to the invitation. WORSHIP
COMMUNION
Read Luke 19:10, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Here is a possible communion prayer to say before you take the bread and the juice, "Father, you sent your Son into the world to seek out the lost. His effort found me. You sent Him into the world to save the lost. His effort redeemed me. I am grateful and humbled by Jesus' actions toward me. Thank you, Father, for sharing your love through your Son who sought and saved me. In Jesus' name, amen."
Take the Lord's Supper.
PRAYER
Pray for our ministry as we reach out to those who need Jesus. Pray for insight into the intricacies of our modern world. Pray for open eyes, minds, and hearts as we seek the lost. Pray for opportunities to lead others to a saving relationship with Jesus.
MESSAGE
“So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
Ephesians 4:11-16 NIV
CHALLENGE
On a scale of 1 to 10, how bright is your light? 1 is little light and 10 is as bright as you can get. Write down 3 ways you can do “good deeds” that might brighten your light. Circle one of the three that you will do in the next 2 days.
INVITATION
It is our custom to offer an "invitation" following the preaching of the Word at Kenwood Church. You may want to follow Jesus. You may want to proclaim your faith. You may want to repent (stop doing ungodly things and start doing Godly things). Perhaps you want to be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. If you have been moved by the Holy Spirit to make a decision in your life, I encourage you to speak with me via phone (248-476-8222) or an email (toddlackie@kenwoodchurch.org). I would be honored to speak with you about what God is doing in your life and try to connect you with a community of faith in your area.
