Video: Kenwood Church 4 25 21 Elders Update

(This update was given by Dennis Fletcher, co-chairman of the elders, at our April 25, 2021, Parking Lot Service.  A written copy of the update can be found below the video.)

Good morning,

On March 28, 2021, we announced that:

We believe that it is an appropriate time to begin to work toward conducting worship services inside the building again.

We were targeting and hoped, based on current information, to be conducting worship inside the building sometime between mid-May to mid-June.

Additionally, the previous Michigan Health Department orders expired on 4/19, we wanted to understand any new guidelines and directions subsequent to the expiration of these orders.

The guidance from the Michigan Health Department remained the same.

While we are still encouraged by vaccine rates we are concerned with the recent increase in new COVID-19 cases.

We will continue to be conservative and cautious about our decisions.  At this time, we are not ready to announce a more specific target date for worship to be held in the building.

Again, we were hoping and targeting a date between mid-May and mid-June.  Based on current circumstances, it would be very unlikely that we would target a date before June.   Please remember these are target dates and are subject to change.

Even after we begin to worship in the building, we will continue to broadcast the service to the parking lot and provide communion to anyone in the parking lot.   We will also continue to post our worship service online.

We will provide another update by mid-May.

Thank you again for your continued prayers and support.
